Take this medication in the morning with or without meals. Do not chew or crush, swallow whole. Take sufficient amount of fluids (2-3 litres per day) to maintain hydration.
Do not take aspirin and NSAIDs during therapy and avoid taking this medication within two hours of taking an antacid. Also avoid alcohol and caffeine during therapy.
This medication is not recommended for children and hence keep out of reach of children.

Depression
Indications
This medicine is indicated in patients with all types of depressive illness, depression accompanied with anxiety, OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder), Panic disorders, social phobia, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (disorder involving sadness after menstruation) and Post-traumatic stress disorder (stress disorder after trauma).
Side Effects
The patient taking this medication may experience Gastrointestinal disturbances, decreased appetite, somnolence (sleepiness), sweating, tremor, dry mouth, blurred vision, weight gain, agitation, elevated cholesterol levels and impaired concentration.
Warnings
Pregnancy

Driving
This medicine may cause dizziness during driving. Therefore, please avoid driving immediately after taking this medicine.

Precautions
The patient taking this medication should be cautious in cases of hepatic (liver) or severe renal (kidney) impairment, cardiovascular (heart) disease, bleeding disorders, glaucoma (increased pressure within the eye), epilepsy (Central nervous system disorder in which the patient experiences seizures), diabetes, hyponatremia (low sodium levels), history of suicide-related events. The patient must also be cautious if elderly and should withdraw this medication gradually.
Contraindications
This medicine is contraindicated within 2 weeks of stopping MAOIs (Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors) or 1 day of stopping moclobemide or linezolid.
