Indications:
This supplements are indicated to use in patients with hypocalcemia (low amounts of calcium in blood), chronic calcium defeciency, rickets, osteomalasia and osteoporosis (diseases of the bone and joints due to vitamin D and calcium defeciency), adjunct in the treatment of hypokalemia, lead poisoning and flouride poisoning.
Pregnancy:
This supplement is safe to use during pregnancy, however higher dosages should only be given when necessary.
Lactation:
This supplement is safe to use in lactating women.
Contraindications:
This supplement is contraindicated in patients who have hypercalcemia (increased calcium levels in the blood), hypercalciuria (increased calcium levels in the urine), severe renal (kidney) failure, renal calculi (stones), galactosemia (galactose in the blood).
Precautions:
Patients should be cautious if they have renal (kidney) impairment, electrolyte imbalance in which case use of syrup is preferred over tablets. Do monitor blood and urinary calcium levels of the patient.
