Primary Uses
Indications
It is an amoebicide that is recommended in diarrhea due to intestinal parasitic infections caused by species namely cryptosporidium parvum & giardia lamblia.
Side Effects
The possible side effects that may arise with the drug include: abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, nausea & vomiting, dyspepsia (indigestion), anorexia, flatulence, constipation, dry mouth & thirst. Dizziness, somnolence, insomnia & tremors can also be experienced. A further increase in SGPT, anemia & leukocytosis may occur.
