Esomeprazole is a prescription medicine used for treating GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). It is also used for treating esophageal lining damage caused by acid, as well as to avoid ulcers produced by NSAIDs and Helicobacter Pylori bacteria. This medicine belongs to a proton pump inhibitor class of medicines. These act by lowering the amount of stomach acid produced.
Side Effects
Patients using esomeprazole may at times experience headaches, skin reactions, dry mouth, and GI (gastro-intestinal) upset. If you experience any of these symptoms for a long period of time, consult your doctor immediately.
