Indications
This medicine is used chronically in patients for brain ageing, cerebral atherosclerosis (thickening off walls of brain arteries), brain ischemia (insufficient blood supply to brain), and cerebral circulatory insufficiencies (obstruction of brain arteries). This medicine is acutely used in patients for head injuries, brain intoxication, and cerebral vascular accidents and also in intensive care, comas, and resuscitation. It is also used in psychic, motor and sensory rehabilitation.
Side Effects
Patients using this medicine may experience hyperkinesia (abnormal involuntary movements), insomnia (trouble sleeping), weight gain, somnolence (excessively sleepy), depression, nervousness, diarrhea, and rash.

Pregnancy
This medicine is contraindicated in pregnant females as it may cause fatal outcomes in unborn child.
Lactation
Administration in nursing mothers is contraindicated or not recommended.
Precautions
Patients who are aged or have history of renal (kidney) impairment should use this medicine with caution. Medicine should not be stopped abruptly but gradually and the patient should be monitored for suicidal tendencies.
