Introduction
How To Use
- Formoterol comes in a capsule.
- Do not swallow these capsules by mouth.
- Inhale the contents of the capsule by mouth using the inhaler device, usually one capsule twice daily (morning and evening) or as directed by the doctor.
- The two doses should be about 12 hours apart.
- Formoterol must always be used with its own special inhaler device.
- Use the new inhaler device each time.
- Always discard the old inhaler device. Do not use a “spacer” device with the inhaler.
- Take formoterol regularly to get the most benefit from it.
- To help remember, take formoterol at the same time.
- Quantity is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.
- Do not increase your quantity or take this product more often than directed.

Formoterol is a bronchodilator used for the treatment of asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases (COPD) such as Emphysema (breathing disorder affecting the air sacs in lungs) and bronchitis (inflammation of the respiratory passages).
Side Effects
The side-effects include headache, nausea, dizziness, anxiety, muscle cramps, joint pain, muscle pain, hypokalemia (low potassium in blood), throat and mouth irritation, sleep disorders, palpitations, hypersensitivity reactions, tremors, cardiac arrhythmias, and increase blood sugar levels.
Warnings
Pregnancy
There is insufficient evidence regarding safety in pregnancy, therefore caution is advised.
Lactation
The effects of this medicine on nursing females are unknown. Consult your health care provider before using this medicine.
Driving
Its use has shown a risk of drowsiness; therefore avoid using it while driving.
Liver
