Primary Uses
Indications
This medicine is used for the treatment of fungal infections of the skin, hair, nails including yeast infections of the skin.
Side Effects
Gastrointestinal symptoms, skin reactions, taste disturbance, hematological (blood) disorders , anorexia (eating disorder that causes abnormally low body weight), headache , arthralgia (joint pain) and myalgia (muscle pain) among other effects. Consult your healthcare provider for further details.
Warnings
Pregnancy
There is no evidence of risk in pregnant females for this medication. However, you should consult your doctor for further advice.
Lactation
This medication is contraindicated in lactating females.
Precautions
Stable chronic (long term liver dysfunction or impaired renal (kidney) function ,psoriasis (skin disorder that forms bumpy red patches with white scales on skin), lupus erythematous (disease in which there is inflammation in organs all over the body due to the body attacking itself ). Liver function tests should be performed before and during therapy. Treatment with this medication should be discontinued if hepatotoxicity (liver damage caused by exposure to drugs) develops.
Contraindications
The use of this medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity (allergy) to this medication as well in patients with active or chronic liver disease, severe renal (kidney) impairment.
