Primary Uses

Indications

This medication is used in patients for treating and preventing angina (chest pain), CHF (congestive heart failure) and myocardial infarction (heart attack).

Side Effects

Tachycardia (rapid heartbeat), hypotension (low blood pressure), heartburn, headache, dizziness, vomiting and flushing (skin turns red).

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypotension conditions (low bp), pulmonary edema (excess fluid in lungs), anemia (), bradycardia (), stenosis (), glaucoma (pressure in the eye).

Indications:

It is used to prevent chest pain (angina), and treat heart conditions such as coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction (heart attack), and long-term congestive heart failure in combination with diuretics.

Administration:

This medicine is mostly taken orally (through mouth). The dosage is dependent on the severity of condition and response to treatment. Please consult your doctor before use. Not recommended for children.

Storage:

Precautions:

• May make you dizzy so it is advised not to do any tasks that require alertness (e.g. driving) immediately after taking this medicine

• Hypothyroidism (decreased thyroid activity)

• Patients with risk of glaucoma

• Avoid abrupt withdrawal

• Tolerance may develop with long term use

• Dizziness

• Headache

• Increased heart rate

• Rash

• Increased pressure in the eye (closed-angle glaucoma)

• Redness or irritation at injection site

Contraindications:

• Glaucoma

• Severe heart problems
