Systemic Fungal Infections
Indications
This medicine is used in the empirical therapy for presumed fungal infections in febrile, neutropenic patients (more prone to infections due to low white blood cell count).
Side Effects
Patients using this medication parentally may at times experience nausea, anorexia (eating disorder), vomiting, and stomach pain. If you experience any of these symptoms for a long period of time, consult your doctor immediately.
Warnings
Pregnancy
Positive evidence of risk .Use only when no safer alternative exists for serious problem.
Lactation
Consult your doctor before using this medication when breastfeeding.
Driving
Please avoid driving when taking this medicine as it may affect your ability to drive.
Alcohol
Please avoid consuming alcohol when taking this medicine.
Precautions
This medicine should be used with extreme caution when give parenterally. Toxicity associated with this medicine is a common finding so close supervision is necessary.
Contraindications
This medicine should not be used in patients with sensitivity to amphotericin B.
