Indications
This medicine is used to treat neuropathic pain which is caused by damage to the somatosensory nervous system associated with abnormal sensations or pain. Can also be used as an adjunctive treatment to treat partial seizure and anxiety.
Side Effects
The side-effects are dry mouth, constipation, nausea, vomiting, edema, flatulence (accumulation of gas
in the alimentary canal), dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, sedation, disorientation, lack of sexual desire,
tremor, speech disorder, dry mouth, gastrointestinal upset, muscle pain, back and limb pain, muscle
cramps, cervical spasm, irritability, attention disturbances, memory impairment, confusion, fatigue,
appetite changes, weight gain, visual and ocular disturbances, renal failure, and angioedema.
Warnings
Pregnancy
No evidence of risk of damage in humans has been found to date, hence, it can be used but with caution.
Lactation
Research suggests that pregabalin should be avoided by women who are breastfeeding.
Precautions
It is an exclusively prescription medicine. People with heart failure and liver impairment are advised to observe cautiousness while using this medicine. Sudden withdrawal should be avoided. Patients with suicidal thoughts should be monitored. Do not over dose.
