Osteoporosis
Indications
It is used to reduce the bone damage done during breast cancer, control the increased calcium level as a
result of tumors, and to reduce fractures in postmenopausal osteoporosis (bone fragility).
Side Effects
In patients treated for hypercalcemia; rise in body temperature, flu-like symptoms, and hypocalcemia
(decreased blood calcium level) results.
In patients treated for bone disease; headache, diarrhea, myalgia (muscle pain), asthenia (physical
weakness), flu-like illness, abdominal pain, vomiting, and dyspepsia (indigestion) results.
Warnings
Pregnancy
This medication should not be used in pregnancy.
Lactation
This medication should not be used by lactating mothers.
Precautions
In people using this medicine, it is advised to monitor renal (kidney) function, blood calcium level, andelectrolyte levels very keenly. Regular intake of calcium and vitamin D should be observed. Also, risk ofosteonecrosis (bone inflammation), vulnerability to fractures, and bone mineral density disturbanceshave been reported, therefore, be cautious and report to your doctor right away if such conditionsresults.
Contraindications
The use of this medicine is prohibited in people with hypersensitivity and hypocalcemia (decreased
blood calcium level).

Indications:
This medication is used for treating metastatic bone damages in breast cancer (tumor development away from primary site), pathological hypercalcemia (increased calcium levels due to disease) in bone tumors, and in post-menopausal osteoporosis to minimize the risk of fractures.
Administration:
This medicine is used orally or intravenously. The injectable form is injected into a vein by a medical professional. However, if you are self-injecting or doing it at home, ensure that you follow the correct procedure and all relevant precautions. The dose is dependent on the age, condition and its severity. The lowest oral dose should be used for the elderly. This medicine is not recommended for children.
Storage:
Please store the oral form of this medicine at room temperature (18-25 Celsius). Please keep away from excessive light, moisture, and children. Please read the leaflet provided with the medicine for further storage guidance.
Side Effects:
The patients administered with this medicine may experience rise in body temperature, flu-like-syndrome, hypocalcemia (low calcium levels), headache, myalgia (muscular pain), and gastrointestinal disturbances.
Precautions:
The patients with severe hepatic (liver) disease, bone function and mineral disturbances, risk of osteonecrosis (bone death due to decreased blood supply) of the jaw and femoral bone fracture should be cautious. Please monitor renal (kidney) function, and levels of calcium, phosphate and magnesium during use of this medicine. Please advise patients to report ear, thigh, hip and groin pain.
Effects on pregnancy and lactation:
This medicine is not recommended for pregnant females. This medicine is not recommended for nursing females.
Contraindications:
The patients with Hypocalcemia (decreased calcium levels) and allergic reactions (especially in children) to Ibandronic Acid and bisphosphonates should avoid use of this medicine.
