Primary Uses
Bacterial Infections
Indications
Vancomycin-resistant enterococcus faecium (VRE) infections. Strepcoccus pnemoniae. Complicated skin structure infections (including diabetic foot infections) caused by suspectible gram positive bacteria. Community acquired pnuemoniae.
Side Effects
Patient administered with this medication may experience hypertension (increased blood pressure), headache, imsomnia (inability to sleep),dizziness, fever, rash,nausea, vomiting, constipation, vaginal moniliasis (vaginal infection) and thrombocytopenia (low levels of platelets).
Warnings
Pregnancy

Precautions
Myelosuppression (bone marrow suppression) have been reported. Patients with uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure),carcinoid syndrome (paraneoplastic syndrome) or untreated hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland)
Contraindications
This medication is containidicated in patients with thyrotoxicosis (excess thyroid hormone action), pheochromocytoma (adrenal gland tissue tumor) and increased blood acidity.
