Primary Uses
Indications
Diclofenac sodium gives prophylaxis against NSAIDs induced stomach ulcers in patients requiring diclofenac sodium for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthrosis.
Side Effects
Diclofenac sodium can cause stomach upset, menorrhagia (painful periods), intermenstrual bleeding, skin eruptions and allergy, headcahe, dizziness, edema.
Warnings
Pregnancy
Research suggests that diclofenac sodium is not safe to be used during Pregnancy. Please consult your doctor before taking it.
Lactation
Research suggests that diclofenac sodium is not safe to be used during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor before taking it.
Precautions
Caution is advised while using this drug if you are a patient with a history of gastric lesions, Renal, hepatic and cardiac insufficiency. Not to be used by patients with cerebrovascular coronary or peripheral disease. Pre menopausal women must take effective contraception with this medicine. In elderly people and patients getting long-term therapy the Liver functions tests and blood tests must be regularly monitored.
Contraindications
Diclofenac sodium should not be used by patients allergic to aspirin/antiinflammatory drugs, patients with active peptic ulcer and women planning pregnancy.
